The announcement
Economic Development Queensland announced on 6 September 2026 that five development partners had been selected for approximately 6.1 hectares at Northshore Hamilton. The proposed neighbourhood would deliver nearly 2,200 homes.
What is proposed
Red & Co, Joe Adsett Developments, GRAYA, Greyburn and Lancini are progressing separate mixed-use proposals. EDQ describes housing alongside shops, services and community facilities.
What happens next
These are proposals, not completed developments. EDQ says planning and design work will continue, with first-home construction expected from mid-2028, subject to approvals and other factors. Initial residents are anticipated from 2031.
For local residents
The next useful milestones will be individual planning submissions, approved designs and construction notices. Follow EDQ’s project page for the primary record rather than treating concept imagery or indicative dates as final commitments.
